The Act Out Theater Group will present the murder mystery comedy “Wine, Cheese and Murder” from Friday January 7th through Sunday January 9th. During this weekend, Dunmore’s Space Time Mead & Cider Works will be offering samples in the theater lobby.

“We look forward to partnering with another Dunmore company,” said Dan Pittman, artistic director of the theater. “This represents a unique opportunity for members of our audience. “

Written by Michael Druce, the play takes place in the wine tasting room of the Boudreaux Sisters cellar, where wine connoisseur Beau Jolie falls dead shortly after tasting the sisters’ new wine. Police Chief Reese Moscato must determine who the killer is.

Pittman, who joined the cast after an actor had to quit the show, plays Beau Jolie.

“It’s a fun piece for the whole family,” Pittman explained. “For those who like puns, this is a perfect production.”

Jessup resident Justin Topa plays Hans Zupp, a doctor whose wine-tasting experience is interrupted by the murder.

“Real crime documentaries are more popular than ever, but this production is meant to be anything but your traditional ‘thriller’,” he noted. “This is truly a wellness show that will make you laugh so hard you might forget there’s a killer among our eccentric cast.”

In addition to Pittman and Topa, the play, directed by Stephanie Skiro of Kingston, features actors Tony Thomas (Wilkes-Barre), Kate Weston (Wilkes-Barre), Tabetha Jacobus (Wilkes-Barre), Charlie Spano (Scranton), Erin McLaughlin (Sweet Valley), Frank Carey (Dunmore), Zachary D. Rossetti (Carbondale), Tylor Floryan (Kingston), Matt Williams (Dallas) and Nicki Kylie Pimental (Dallas).

“Wine, Cheese and Murder” will take place January 7-8 at 7:30 pm and January 9 at 2 pm on the Act Out Stage (150 E. Grove St., Dunmore). Tickets cost $ 18. A limited number of tables for four, six, and eight are also available for $ 75, $ 90, and $ 105, respectively. Tables are equipped with a basket of free snacks and sparkling water. Space Time Mead & Cider Works will also offer tastings in the theater lobby. Tickets are available online at or at the door.

Act Out Theater Group is primarily a children’s theater-workshop which also produces several adult productions each year and offers a variety of classes in its art and education center.
