Can “Single’s Inferno” repeat the success of the Korean drama series on Netflix?

Ahead of the release of its final episodes later this week, the Korean reality show “Single’s Inferno,” first released on December 18, 2021, landed 10th on Netflix’s global TV channel list on Monday.

The series became the first Korean reality show to make the service’s top 10 worldwide.

While the streaming service had previously featured a number of Korean reality shows – “Busted!” (2018), travel documentary “Twogether” (2020), cooking show “Paik’s Spirit” (2021), variety show “New World” (2021) and a road trip program “The Hungry and the Hairy” (2021) – with star-studded actors including top comedian Yoo Jae-suk, singer and actor Rain and others, it was a celebrity-free dating show that had the biggest impact.

Meanwhile, Netflix’s sci-fi mystery “The Silent Sea” also ranked fifth in the Netflix World Rankings, after “Cobra Kai”, “Emily in Paris”, “The Witcher” and “Stay Close” .

Although the Korean sci-fi series ranked seventh in the charts after its release on December 24, 2021, the unique setting and storyline seems to have caught viewers’ attention, leading to the rise in the charts.

“Single’s Inferno” and “The Silent Sea” recorded first and second place, respectively, on Netflix in Korea on Tuesday.

The last two episodes of “Single’s Inferno” will be released on Saturday.
