A power play from the Miami Hurricanes’ schedule might ultimately be just what Auburn football needed right now.
The Tigers are competing with Oregon for the services of Westview High School 4-star WR prospect Darrius Clemons, and with less than two months until National Day signing, the ‘U’ poaching Ducks head coach Mario Cristobal would be beneficial for Bryan Harsin et co .:
As UM races against Mario Cristobal in the next few days, there’s this prospect today from Dolphins safety Jevon Holland, who played for him: âHe’s a hell of a trainer, one of the best trainers. that I had. As a recruiter, he’s even better. You see it with the talent that we get in Oregon.

Clemons is currently expected to pick Oregon with 247Sports having their current odds of over 92%. Auburn has the second best odds and Penn State rounds out their top three.
Although Clemons hails from the Pacific Northwest, he has Noted that his family is from the south, giving Auburn a side advantage behind the Ducks:
âAuburn is awesome. My family is from the south, there are a lot of families there, âhe said. âIt was just great to come down and see what they have down there. They have a new coaching staff and few talented receivers so it’s definitely a place I can come and compete for a spot ahead.
“It’s cool to know that they make me a priority and they want me to come and be the face of the program.”
If Cristobal migrates himself and joins a Hurricanes program looking to recharge quickly after a 7-5 season, Auburn football may have the advantage in terms of reliability.
It’s not something you’d expect to hear from a schedule that sacked the man initially in charge of Clemons (Cornelius Williams) recruiting just weeks after he started his coaching tenure at WR, but it’s college football in 2021 for you.
