While we’re hoping Konami will finally give Silent Hill fans some much-needed love with the series’ return, it looks like Konami will have to do something big to redeem itself. Example: they left the silent Hill web domain expires and someone has already picked it up.
Admittedly, the Silent Hill estate hadn’t seen much activity in a while and played host to an image comparing the height of Pyramid Head to Resident Evil Village‘s Lady Dimitrescu in a nudge at Capcom’s recent entry into the resident Evil series. This has now been replaced with a single image of the Masahiro Ito’s infamous tweet earlier this year.
Apparently Ito followed that up with a now-deleted tweet explaining what he meant, basically saying that Pyramid Head is now “cheaper” after being subjected to appearing in so many titles. And really, can you blame him?
Sadly, this is just another case of Konami dropping the ball again with one of its beloved franchises. This makes their latest Twitter gaffe even more pungent. All could be forgiven if they finally reassure everyone that the franchise’s supposed return is more than just chit-chat.
Until then, we will just have to settle for fan projects and new projects by silent Hill old students.
Big thanks to RelyOnHorror for spotting this.
