If there’s a theme in Marvel’s Phase Four, it’s that Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios can’t keep any secrets from Marvel fans. Marvel Security Has Been Failing To Do Their Job Ever Since Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). All the cameos of Spider-Man: No Coming Home (2021), were disclosed well in advance. Even the Marc Spector/Steven Grant/Moon Knight (Oscar Isaac) costume leaked early. Now the Ms. Marvel The series was hit with another reveal ahead of schedule.

The new leak comes months after his infamous leak enraged fans that the MCU would change Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel’s (Iman Vellani) origin from Inhuman to magic user. This caused a huge controversy among fans who started the #FixMsMarvel hashtag on Twitter. Fans who are familiar with Kamala Khan from Marvel Comics know that in her origin story in Ms. Marvel (2014) by G. Willow Wilson, her shapeshifting powers and “Embiggen” were a central aspect of her character.
After being exposed to terrigen mist following the terrigen bomb freed by the Inhuman King Black Bolt, Kamala Khan realized that she was an Inhuman. Her body underwent a change called Terrigensis and when she came out the other side she had her new polymorph abilities and unknowingly metamorphosed into her favorite female superhero – Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel. She would eventually realize that a Pakistani-American fangirl from Jersey City, New Jersey had what it took to become Marvel’s first Muslim superhero to lead her own solo series.

When the Ms. Marvel The series was first announced, fans knew Marvel Studios would reject his Inhuman origin but hoped the rest of his character would be true to his comic book origin. And there’s a major reason why Kevin Feige will never touch the Inhumans again.
In 2014, the Marvel Cinematic Universe announced that it would be making a Inhumans movie. At the time, Marvel Studios didn’t have the rights to mutants or the X-Men like Logan/Wolverine or Charles Xavier/Professor X, so the Inhumans looked like a good alternative for the MCU. The film suffered from the get-go and was later revamped as a television for Disney-owned ABC in 2017.

The series starred Anson Mount (Black Bolt), Serinda Swan (Medusa), Isabelle Cornish (Crystal), Ken Leung (Karnak), and Eme Ikwuakor (Gorgon). It’s widely regarded as the worst thing Marvel Studios has ever created and has been called total “garbage” by fans. The issues with the show are myriad and while other Inhuman characters have been handled better in ABC’s other Marvel TV series. Agents of SHIELD like Daisy Johnson/Skye/Quake (Chloe Bennet), Marvel fans never thought the MCU would reference them again.
However, the latest leak for the Ms. Marvel The series hints that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will no longer pass by ignoring the Inhumans. The new leak comes amid plenty of reshoots that could add references to Kamala Khan’s other comic book mentor, Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.). Published by TV Time, the world’s largest tracker for TV shows and movie releases, Marvel’s next original series will premiere on Disney+ on Fridays, starting May 13, 2021. The app also posted titles including the first “Kamala Khan: Embiggen” and the second episode “Lockin’ Jaws” which both shocked fans.

The title of the first episodes seems to suggest that Marvel Studios won’t erase Kamala Khan’s “Embiggen” power as previously thought. Leaked promotional images showed Kamala Khan gaining a new power in the MCU involving glowing crystal constructs that appeared to be aimed at making her look more like Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonnah Parris) before their team in The Marvels (Captain Marvel 2) on February 17, 2023. This had the added effect of making her less Reed Richard/Mister Fantastic-like before her debut in Jon Watt’s The Fantastic Four to restart.
Also, for those who have been spared the traumatic experience of watching the Inhuman series, they may have forgotten that the supposed name of the middle name is the name of a member of the Inhuman royal family – Tetanus. Lockjaw first appeared in Fantastic Four #45 (1965) by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. He is a dog who was experimented with Terrigen and gained the ability to teleport while becoming 1240 pounds. He served with many Inhumans, including Kamala Khan.

This raises many questions for fans. If Lockjaw appears in Ms. Marvel does it do Inhumans cannon? It was originally billed as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Kevin Feige has never somehow confirmed if the series created by Marvel Television for ABC are still part of the Marvel Multiverse, that includes Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter.
It could also be a sign that Marvel might actually make the Pet Avengers at some point. Lockjaw led the team in the comics and other members recently appeared as Throg (Thor Frog) in okayI and even Lucky from Hawk Eye could join.
