‘It’s huge to remember that any day anyone can win’ – Harriet Dart defends fellow Brit Emma Raducanu
Harriet Dart recently came to the defense of her compatriot Emma Raducanu, pointing out that women’s tennis is extremely competitive and anyone can win any day.
“It’s huge to remember that on any given day, anyone can win. There aren’t many games where you can turn on the TV – especially in women’s tennis – and it’s a fast game,” he added. said Dart.
Dart developed the strength of the women’s game “at every level”, and that’s what made Raducanu’s US Open triumph all the more special.
“The level got so strong and deep on every level that’s why what Emma did was so amazing. It was super inspiring. She’s very young and being able to handle anything thrown at her was very special,” she said.
The world number 85 added that many of the British players are the same age and grew up playing together. She hopes the country will be “real contenders” for the Fed Cup in the years to come.
“A lot of us are the same age, and while some are a bit younger and a bit older, we all grew up playing together. I think everyone just wants everyone else to do well – and I think if one person is doing well, that motivates someone else to do well too. We have a great Fed Cup team, and I hope we can be real contenders in the years to come,” she said.
