Roundup of weekend events: Concerts, comedy and swing country dancing

CASPER, Wyo.– Those looking to get around the oil town this weekend can up their game by attending some fun events. This weekend is full of great events, some aimed at adults and some designed for kids. Get ready to listen to great music, laugh at interesting jokes and have your lover out on the dance floor.

A band named Sue

“A group named Sue is always up for rocking your booty. So come to Hootch’s for some booty-shaking time. Free show. The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. this Friday evening. Don’t miss your chance to hear live music from A Band Named Sue.

“Mastermind of Monkey returns to rock the Black Tooth Brewing Company!” You’ll dance the night away to a wide variety of rock covers from the 50s to current music, plus original music played on WY FM radio and internet radio stations around the world! Enjoy an amazing cold beer and live music! Outdoor food welcome, no cover charge, 21+ only taproom!” The event will take place on Saturday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Comedy weekend

For two nights there will be a comedy show at Gruner Brothers. The headliner will be Zac Maas, a native of Deadwood, South Dakota, who now lives in Denver, Colorado. The feature is Kallan Reece, a laid-back comedian from Oklahoma, who moved to Colorado filled with stories and one-liners. He is a five-time winner of the Thick Skin showcase at Comedy Works in Denver. Tickets are $10 and the show starts at 8:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

Introduction to West Coast Swing dance

It’s time to put on your dancing shoes and learn how to double dance and swing dance. There are many different styles, but at The Void they are going to teach West Coast Swing Dance. Taking place at 3 p.m., the course is aimed at teenagers and from 5 p.m., it is aimed at adults. The course is free for anyone under 18 and costs just $10. This is the first event at The Void’s new space in downtown Casper. Join us on May 1st for this fun swingers event.
