Stephen King is our man from Maine, and when he has a TV recommendation, we usually take it very seriously here. We recently noticed that the horror icon and prolific author shared his feelings about an Apple+ series a while back, and we just needed to find out more.
Black bird is a true crime drama mini-series created by Dennis Lehane and premiered last summer. Check out what Stephen King has to say about the show below.
In Black bird, “As Jimmy Keene begins a 10-year prison sentence, he receives an incredible offer: if he can get a confession from the alleged killer Larry Hall, he will be freed; fulfilling this mission becomes the challenge of a lifetime.
The limited series is based on the autobiography In with the Devil: A Fallen Hero, a Serial Killer, and a Dangerous Market for Redemption by James Keene with Hillel Levin. Lehane himself is a famous author known for writing novels like Shutter Island, Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone and Live the night.
Black bird stars Taron Egerton as James “Jimmy” Keene Jr, Paul Walter Hauser as Larry Hall, Sepideh Moafia as Lauren McCauley, Greg Kinnear as Brian Millar and Ray Liotta as James Keene.
