‘THAT DAMN MICHAEL CHE’ renewed for a second season

HBO Max has renewed the original Max comedy series THIS DAMN MICHAEL CHE for a second season. The series debuted in May this year and the stars Michel Che (“Saturday Night Live”). The first season is available to stream now on HBO Max.

The first season of this original and groundbreaking new comedy series uses sketches and vignettes to illustrate what it feels like in various everyday life situations including racial profiling, unemployment, falling in love and more, from the point of view of view of Michael.

Decision maker qualifies the series as “thought provoking” the Daily beast note: “The comedy and intimacy of Che’s personal experience creates a show that feels funnier, more resonant, and more current.”

CE DAMN MICHAEL CHE is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, Broadway Video and Irony Point with Michael Che, Lorne Michaels, Erin Doyle as executive producers.

On July 14, 2020, HBO Max gave the then-untitled project a serial commission consisting of 6 half-hour episodes. The series is created by Michael Che, who is also an executive producer alongside Lorne Michaels and Erin Doyle.

Che, speaking about the project, said:

I’m really excited to be working on this show with HBO Max. It’s a project I’ve been thinking about for a while and we have a lot of sketches that we want to shoot so please wear your masks so we can go into production.
