If you’ve worked your way through all the shows and movies recommended to you this month, and you’re just grumbling for the next good thing to drop, I bring good news. Disney+ has a bunch of exciting new releases releasing throughout August.
From the first local documentary series focused on fearless AFLW women to highly anticipated dramas like The patient, Mikeand the bearthere’s plenty to keep you on the couch.
Let’s take a look at some of the series coming to Disney+ in August, shall we?
Everything is coming to Disney+ in August
She-Hulk: Lawyer is here to fill the Hulk-sized hole in your heart. Jennifer Walters, played by Tatiana Maslany, is an attorney who specializes in superhuman-focused legal cases. Walters must navigate the complicated life of a bachelor in his thirties who also happens to be a 6ft 7in green superpowered hulk – imagine adding him to your dating profile.
The nine-episode comedy series welcomes a host of MCU veterans, including dad Marc Ruffalo as Smart Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/The Abomination, and Benoit Wong like Wong as well as Gonzaga with ginger, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass and Renee Elise Goldsberry.

Fearless: The Inside Story of the AFLW
Fearless: The Inside Story of the AFLW is a raw and emotional insight into the dreams, struggles and triumphs of the groundbreaking AFLW league. The six-part series explores the stories of the brave pioneers who were told they could never play Australian rules football at the highest level, but did it anyway.
The series follows four clubs in the competition – the Adelaide Crows are the benchmark for the competition, having already won two premierships and, after a surprise big defeat in the final in 2021, are ready for redemption. The Collingwood Magpies are one of Australia’s strongest and most successful sports franchises, but so far the women’s team has no silverware to show for it.
The Western Bulldogs are a young, fun and energetic club that believe they have the makings of a dynasty in their ranks. And the Greater Western Sydney Giants are trying to win hearts and minds in an address dominated by rugby league code.

the bear is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated series of 2022. The comedy series has already earned a 100% Certified Freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which is huge. The Bear is about food, family, the craziness of the grind, the beauty of a sense of urgency, and the steep, slippery downsides. Like young chef Carmy (played by Jeremy Allen White), struggles to transform both The Original Beef of Chicagoland and himself, as he works alongside a rudimentary kitchen crew.
Broadcast on Disney+ from August 31.
The patient is a series of psychological thrillers about a therapist (Steve Carell) who is held prisoner by a patient (Domhnall Gleeson) who happens to be a serial killer. Sam has an unusual therapeutic request for Alan: to curb his murderous urges. To survive, Alan must calm Sam’s deranged mind and stop him from killing again.

Mike is an 8-episode limited series that explores the tumultuous and controversial ups and downs of by Mike Tyson professional boxing career and personal life – from being a beloved world athlete to an outcast and back again. Focusing on Mike Tyson, the series examines class and race in America, as well as the fame and power of the media, misogyny, the wealth divide, the promise of the American dream, and ultimately our role in shaping the world. elaboration of Mike’s story.

Welcome to Wrexham
Welcome to Wrexham is a documentary series that follows the dreams and people of Wrexham, a working-class town in North Wales, UK, as two Hollywood stars take over the town’s historic but struggling football club.
One of the most interesting parts of this story is that in 2020, Rob McElhenney (It’s always sunny in Philadelphia) and Ryan Reynolds teamed up to buy the team to turn the club into an underdog story the whole world could root for. The only problem is that Rob and Ryan have fucking football experience or work together. Despite this, the lads are serious about their investment in Wrexham, improving the club and doing good for the townspeople.
