What we know about the spin-off series so far

Ho Ho Ho, get ready because Santa Claus is coming back to a TV near you. The loved one Santa The trilogy is back, this time as a TV series. As part of their Halfway to the Holidays campaign, Disney announced the new series, Santa Clausesarrive at Disney+ this holiday season. The series will pick up a few years after the third film, Santa Claus 3: The Escape Clausleave behind.

Of course, some of our favorite characters from the trilogy will reprise their roles for the new spin-off. Tim Allen, toy story, and Last man standing star, will return as Santa Claus AKA Scott Calvin. Elizabeth Mitchell, who appeared in the second and third films of the trilogy, will return as Mrs. Claus AKA Carol, and even David Krumholtz who plays Bernard the Elf will return.

When Santa Claus falls from his roof on Christmas Eve in the original 1994 film, Scott Calvin inherits the magic and, of course, the red suit and rosy cheeks. After navigating his new responsibilities with the help of his son Charlie in the first film, Scott must find his Mrs. Claus in the second film, and Elizabeth Mitchell joins the franchise. In the third and final film, Scott must battle Jack Frost to turn the shape of the North Pole into a tourist attraction.

The spinoff picks up as Santa approaches his 65th birthday and, well, he can’t keep up like he used to. As his Santa magic begins to fade, he must find a replacement. If that’s not enough already, he’ll also have to prepare his family for life outside the North Pole. In the series, Scott has two children, Cal and Sandra, who have spent their entire lives at the North Pole. Cal will be played by Austin Kane, and Tim Allen’s real-life daughter, Elizabeth Allen Dick, will play Sandra. Additionally, Kal Penn, best known for his role in Designated Survivor, will play Simon Choski, a single father who visits the North Pole with his daughter Grace (Rupali Redd). Santa Claus will also have two new elves by his side, Noel played by Devin Bright and Betty played by Matilda Lawler.

The new series was announced in January and began filming in March this year. So far, no release date has been announced, but we assume it will be released around Christmas. In the meantime, you can watch all three movies online. Santa trilogy on Disney+.
